Level 60 hits

Level 60 has hit, but it comes with elements to decipher. Possible spoilers and my first reaction after the break.

Level 60 card

Okay, my first reaction is to be thankful to finally have level 60. There’s the geek part of me that worried about ending level updates on level 59, an uneven number (but it’s also a prime number). Then there’s the worrywart part of me that worried about levels ending. Well, there we go. According to the system message, level updates have ended with level 60.

The final level of TSTO

That does not necessarily mean that the game is over or anything. It sort of feels that way, but realistically there had to come an end to introducing “main characters” (as the level 60 dialogue says). There’s still plenty of one-off characters and plenty of skins to offer for events, though.

This wasn’t the greatest timing to get this update while I’m up on only 3 hours of sleep. Fun! 😛

I think most people are going to be pleased to get Wise Guy. That theater is really great looking, too. But, strangely, no premium character this level.

Googolplex

The Gil deal that came with this update (which appears to have a timer based on when you start this update of exactly 7 days) is also another nail in the coffin that is Krustyland. It’s a replacement of some sort to Krustyland, by being able to build Duff Gardens inside Springfield. I don’t know enough yet to know if that’s to be taken serious or not.

Okay, my overall reaction is mixed. I agree with them that they should have figured out levels a long time ago, maybe ending at level 50 (in number; not because of which characters currently occupy those spots). I don’t agree in any signs that this game might end, because I’ve only been playing for a year and not three years like others have. Yeah, I’m talking about selfishness. 😉

It’s a bit disheartening to me. At the start of this act and now I’m feeling even less enthusiastic about continuing. I’ll probably get over it by the time I catch up on sleep again and as level 60 isn’t so fresh anymore.

For those who are planning to use the XP Collider, this might be your last best chance to take advantage of it. It’s my estimation that it’s better to use it at the beginning of new levels… Last level, guys. 😥 New info from Addicts: 1 donut reward for each level. Yeah…that’s one-third as good as before…but I guess it’s something. A warning: Watch out for falling glitches. Maybe hold off on leveling up for a day…

Hi Simp. Are you aware of the best glitch ever? You can get boatloads of donuts. Farm donuts using the collider, the xp bar reset with each level so you can level up easily. First you get one donut for level but when you reach 900ish you can get 3 donuts for level like we used to get. I’ve got 1600 donuts so far and counting.

I’ve just read the warning about levelling up in tstoaddicts. I haven’t had any problem so far. I’ve been buying 5 rattrap trucks, then level up and I repeat the process. I guess that if you buy a lot of trucks at once might cause some issues.

How does it work? I heard that level 60 to 61 is 1million xp, but that every level after that is only 40 thousand xp, is that right? And what happens at level 939 (that’s the number that I read)? How much xp does each of those bonus round levels take?

From level 61 to 939 you get 1 donuts for levelling up. Then your level remains in 939 but you get rounds of bonuts when you “level up”. So you can get up to 3 donuts per level. The Xp required for leveling up is the same for every level: 40000. I’m buying 5 rattrap trucks and I’m getting about 62 rounds of bonuts, this is 186 donuts. This of course depends of your multiplier. I think I have got about 3000 bonut so far.😂🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩

Sounds super. I doubt my small millions and bonus can get me to the bonus rounds, but 40k….I am severely tempted. Congrats on your 3000. Btw, iOS or Android?

You are pretty confident that EA will rescue you, or you just hate the Wild West event that much that you’re willing to sit it out while you sit on your stack of donut riches? How many riches did you stack?? Was it worth it? 🙂

I was absolutely sure EA was gonna release a patch soon because a lot of people were being affected by the glitch. I know nothing about programming but I kinda figured it was an “easy” fix. During the Monorail event though, when a lot of players started reporting that they were missing their donuts, I spent all my sprinklies before the limbo took them from me, because THAT was a glitch I couldn’t see a fix for.

That being said, I’ll panic if I ever get an isolated-case kind of glitch.

          Experience brings wisdom!

But if it comforts you, the blitch didn’t work for me anyway. I mean, I only got donuts for the first seven levels. And unless EA increases the amount of XP required, it only takes 500k XP to level up now. Pretty easy to get donuts.

Time to show my numbers now: I had 353 donuts and about 32 million in-game cash (AFTER converting tickets from Krustyland to cash), placed all my SH buildings for the hidden bonus (my bonus percentage is “officially” 268,8%), activated the collider (5 donuts), bought the level 60 building and rushed it (12 donuts). That left me with 336 donuts, then I received one donut per level until level 67 (343). Than I got locked out. After I got back in, I started buying and selling rap trap delivery trucks, and when I ran out of money, I went a little crazy and sold my magnifying glass, my Popsicle stick skyscraper, around 50 brown houses I had in my inventory and a few of the other houses.

Short story long, I’m now level 324, have 603 donuts and zero in-game cash (just for fun). Oh, and I had just won 3 donuts from my Maggie game, so I was safe in not needing cash for the next few days.

Sounds like what David was planning to do. Thanks for the numbers. Loved it. When I got to the part where you rushed the Googolplex, I gasped. lol. I think, if you had avoided that there would have been no lockout for you.

FYI, I’m still level 60. Still sitting on 6 mil.

I didn’t notice that a patch had been released until I read your reply, Simp. However, the Xp bar’ screencap that I took yesterday already showed the new Xp level requirements. Luckly, it seems I’d already spent all my money by the time the patch hit. It seems it doesn’t worthwhile farm donuts any more. At least, until you get a large amount of money.
On a side note, I’m wondering why so few people decided to give a try to this blitch. I have 95 friends, many of them read tstoaddicts and other tsto related webs, and only 3 of them have levelled up till 939 (Among those are 168sean… and …brooders). I mean that if we’d had any problem while leveling up it would have been EA’s fault. We haven’t hacked the game. We have been playing by the EA’s rules. We only took a little advantage of this glitch.😉

I think it’s a combination of things. Being afraid of getting locked out, not having the money to do it (or not realizing how much you could gain with whatever they had), or not fully understanding how the XP collider works. Just guessing.

    • simp7fan says:

Yes, yes….but it was like this was a blitch and a glitch. The blitch with the free Wild West item from the next day is nearly completely free of issue. Unless the item was unique, but then the worst issue was more cowbell — I mean, more of the item, and it didn’t lock you out or anything.

Like you pointed out, neighbors that were also readers of Addicts must have read about the blitch and how it was also a glitch. I see that about 5 of my neighbors have levels above 60, most of them 939. That’s not all the neighbors that I know are readers at Addicts. I’d say those were probably just like me, too scared after hearing that it could lock you out. Even if it’s EA’s fault and it could affect some people who didn’t even consciously level up (i.e. complete innocence)… what is the standard fix for getting locked out? If I knew what that was, then I might have risked it. But one of the “fixes” could be a roll-back (meaning the blitch would have been pointless), or a game reset (probably a scare tactic), or no solution for a week (meaning missing out on completing the event).

Oh, if only they had released this the day after the event ended: I would have been much more likely to risk it. I think. lol

I just hit level 61. I built the Googolplex but didn’t do anything other than just play like I usually do. Everything seems ok, so far. The XP for 62 is 40,000. I thought it was suppose to be 500,000. I’m tempted to turn on the collider and see what happens…

I think it’s 500k after level 100 or something. It’s 40k, then 500k, then 1 million at level 939. There’s a breakdown somewhere, sorry. I’d probably turn it on after you’re ready to do the Googolplex tasks, since I heard they’re related to leveling up.

If that’s how it’s suppose to be, then I’ll hold off. Unless EA ups the XP requirements again, donut/XP farming will be even more profitable now. You might only get one donut per level but three levels, even at 500k, is a lot less than needing 10 million. And when you’re at level 939, only 1 mil gets you donut boxes (if that’s still the case). Save up that money!

Have you built the Googolplex? I wasn’t thinking about it but it should go down in price when you reach level 60 something. Right?

Some thoughts on running the collider 24/7 (I saw your comments on the open thread)…

If you’re going to do it, it’s really only “worth” it if you can earn back more than the donuts spent through “normal” game play (collecting from buildings and finished tasks). If normal game play gets you close but you need to buy rat trap trucks, or other items, to make back the donuts you’re better off waiting, getting 1 days worth of the collider and buying and selling rat traps until the money is gone.

Levels 61-101 with only 40k XP will happen very quickly, colliding or not. I know I was going up 2-3 (at least) levels per day. Personally I wouldn’t activate the collider for them. Yes, you’ll earn back the donuts but is spending 5 donuts to get 40, faster, worth it?

When you reach 101 and the XP requirement is 500k (which is where I am) in order to make a profit I would need to level up 26 times. Breaking even wouldn’t be “bad” (certain “things” happen at different levels, and the ultimate goal would be to reach 939 when donut boxes come back for 1m XP). 26 levels equals 13million XP, equals 1.3m per day, equals 260k per day without the collider active. I don’t think I can make that much. Which is why I’m thinking about adding more bonus boosting items.

Somebody better at math might be able to figure out a “break even” point with money and XP earned and, while that would interest me, it is beyond my grasp lol. I’ve seen talk of constantly building Kwik E Marts then selling and buying more because the XP from them is the best per dollar but that seems like “work.”

Whenever the next event hits I might run a 10 day collider experiment. Assuming I’ll be in the game often (and hopefully be able to clear all my buildings) I’ll be earning XP as fast as I can. And even if I don’t earn back the 25 donuts I’ll spend my money on rat trap trucks to make up the difference.

      I’m piggybacking off your analysis.

I’d say that if you make at least 1 more donut per cost in the 10 days then it’s worth it to leave it on 24/7, if it’s normal play. I would not say that 1 donut over cost for a 24h is worth it because that’s less a good return on the Money spent.

I’m looking forward to your report next event.

Going up over 800 levels is going to take some time, collider or not. And it’s not that I’m in a hurry to reach 939 but I’m also not NOT in a hurry. If I could break even, or hopefully gain a few donuts using the collider 24/7, I would definitely be interested in doing so. But I don’t want to constantly grind to do it. I’m willing to do that some during events but, at times, I need a break. I’ve been busy over the last few days and haven’t been in the game as much, mostly sending everyone on 24hr jobs. I know I’m not earning enough to justify running a 10 day collider doing that. Over the next few days I’m going to see how much XP I can expect to earn in any given day using some shorter jobs. And I agree with you, if I was going to use the collider for 1 day I’d only do it if I was going to be spending my bank and, hopefully, earning a lot more than just 1 donut profit.

    • simp7fan says:

Thanks for your recommendation. I don’t know if I’m wrong, but I still believe that I’m not just getting there faster but earning more donuts. If I wait to use the collider until level 939 then we’re at an infinite stage of levels, but I don’t see why that should be different just because we’re at a finite stage of levels 40k each. I’ll reach level 100 (and then level 939) quicker but I’m also getting more bang for my buck (Money) if I turn on the collider. I guess I could also save up more and more Money but by the time I use it I’ll need to earn 100k a level, or 1 million xp a level. I’m just not seeing why I shouldn’t start now.

Yeah, I wish we had a math wizard here, but one that also spoke English (metaphorical English, you know, the kind where one can communicate numbers in easy to understand words).

Just to clarify, I don’t think it’s a bad idea to use the collider on levels 61-101. I just know that I went through them very fast even without it. At the time I had only ever used the collider to purge my cash in one big flurry and I didn’t have much to spend. But if I had turned on the collider at level 61, sent everyone on short jobs, and spent my modest bank, I might have gone up those 40 levels in one day. I’m not sure about that, just guessing.

If you ever want to get to level 939 you’re going to need to use the collider at some point. Or wait a few years. 🙂

I wonder if an event will really hit… Last time I used the collider knowing we were getting an event…and there’s just too much to focus on at the start of an event (getting acclimated), so that’s sort of a bad idea. I’d wait at least a day or two, since you said you would start it during an event I didn’t want to discourage you either.

I’ve discovered a flaw in my thinking…I think. Initially, I thought as long as I earned back the donuts spent (plus one) it would be worth it. That’s going by “normal” game playing. But let’s say I run the collider for those 10 days and go up exactly 26 levels, giving me a profit of one donut. If I hadn’t run the collider, but played the same way, I’d have gone up 5 levels (actually 5.2) over 10 days. So my net of one donut is a loss compared to the 5(.2) without the collider. It’s almost breaking even at 30 levels; 5 net with the collider on, 6 without. 31 levels would be worth 6 on, 6.2 off. Going up 32 levels is when it’s “worth” it. 7 donuts on, 6.4 off.

Like I said, initially, I thought it would be worth running the collider all the time if I was earning at least 26 donuts/levels over 10 days. But 1 donut profit over 10 days is not much of a return. So that got me thinking…

I based my calculations on using the collider for 10 days at a cost of 25 donuts. I took the (hypothetical) levels I would go up in ten days and subtracted 25 for my net gain using the collider. (Since 1 level equals 1 donut, that’s the easy part, lol.) I took those same levels and divided them by 5 to get how many levels I would go up without the collider active. Of course you can’t get a fraction of a donut, so those could be rounded down. But if I continue to buy 10 days of the collider it would equal out to a full donut.

Time to bug David again. Hi, Dave.

Any chance you can re-explain needing the donuts to be a certain number over what’s spent? Like, instead of just earning at least 26 donuts (if you spend 25) you need 31 donuts? Why?

If you do the 10 days, it’s basically 2.5 donuts per day. If you ran this as a 24h charge we’d think that we need at least a donut over, so let’s say 1.5 donuts per day. That’s 15 donuts over for the entire 10 days. Well, let’s say 10 to 15 donuts for the entire 10 days. Are those numbers meaningful?

I sorta get what you were saying about if you played normally you might get 5 levels and 5 donuts. If over 10 days you only earn 26 donuts, you’ve lost the 25 donuts cost and only earned 1 donut…which I believe is worse than just playing normally. So would you need to earn at least 25 extra? Or just 5 or 6 extra?

      Is there a formula/algorithm for this? 😀

      Liked by 1 person

      • Davidbo33 says:

We need an algorithm! I think you understand my train of thought. I just took how many levels/donuts I’d need over ten days (with the collider on) to make a profit and did the (reverse) math to see how many I would have earned without it. I just divided everything by 5 to figure out what I would expect to earn. Take the break even point. 25 levels with the collider on would be 5 levels with it off. Or, 0 donuts gained with the collider, 5 without. It would be better going up fewer levels (with the collider off), if it was paying more of a profit. Doing that tells me it’s worth it to run the collider if you go up 32 levels through normal gameplay. You’ll net a 7 donut profit with the collider but without it, you’d have earned only 6.

Based on this math, it’s probably not the most profitable thing to run the collider 24/7. For me, anyway. I don’t think I’m going up 32 levels just by playing the game. I would probably be better off saving up some money, getting a one day charge and buying KEMs by the hundreds. The problem is that it’s time consuming. Not just the 4 hour build but I’d need to buy so many at a time. A tenth of the cost of a rat trap truck and you can’t just sell it back right away, either. I’ll probably continue buying 10 days of the collider because it’s easier buying 25-50 KEMs, 4-5 times a day than to try for it all in one day. Less of a grind, for sure. I currently have just under 2 days left and I’m up almost 200 donuts, so it’s certainly effective to do so.

I noticed that the xp gained from placing an item is at a different ratio depending on how much it costs and your personal bonus. I’ll have to stare at the numbers a bit more.

Were you buying different items to compare the XP they gave? There’s a couple threads on EA about running the collider 24/7. The best payout for XP seems to be Kwik E Marts. That is, buying, building, reselling, and repeating. I built one, as a test of sorts. It yielded me over 12k XP. With the collider active, building 8-9 would level me up. I’m thinking about buying 10 days of the collider, building 15-20 KEMs at a time and doing that, maybe, 3 times a day.

I didn’t try KEM, but I built a brown house… hah. Brown houses are no good. Yeah, I tested each item by checking it’s xp. I checked Cobblestone Walls, Volleyball Net, the $25 Shrub, Bloodmobile, and a few others that I forget. I’m only considering resellable items. (The small island had a good value, but you don’t get your 25% back…but, who knows, they might be worth it if I did more calculations on it.)

But even better I ran the numbers “automatically” and they line up with a list of items. It looks like as you try items that are cheaper, the value gets better (depending on your bonus), even if the cost to base xp is the exact same. This is because of the rounding or something.

I only checked decorations, and the best value is the Cobblestone Wall. But then there’s time spent versus ROI, which might be a different, more expensive item. So I did a lot of Volleyball Nets. Then when I started to run out of time, I did Bloodmobiles.

        Still gotta crunch the data.

That’s a lot of numbers to crunch! I can’t imagine buying $100+ million worth of cobblestone walls lol. I wonder if I could have covered every square…of course I’d hit the item limit long before that would happen.

I’m going colliding! Ten days and I might just keep going ad infinitum. I’m doing KEM farming and plan on buying/building/reselling 21 KEMs 3 times a day. I might do more, or more often, at some point but this is my plan, for now. 21 because I have 4 in my town and 25 is when the cost caps (at 14,400) and I’ve gotta stop sometime.

Each KEM gives me 62,580 XP or 1,314,180 for 21

The cost for 21 KEMs is 74,990

    The resell is 18,748

Doing this 3 times per day will give me 3,942,540 XP at a total cost of $168,726. That’s almost 8 levels/donuts for just over the cost of one rat trap truck. (The math doesn’t seem right…I don’t know. I think it is.)

I figured on 3 times a day because that seems pretty easy to do. Overnight, in the morning, and in the afternoon/evening. I could easily do a fourth or even a fifth, if I wanted to but I don’t want this to feel like a grind. And since I make 1-1.5 million a day I could easily spend a lot more. You said you don’t make that much per day and I’m not sure what your bonus % is but I would definitely look into this, if you want to make some donuts. 🙂

I’m looking into it. I forgot about KEM again. My percentage is like 360+% for xp.

KEM gives 2000xp no matter the cost. That sounds really good, even at 14400, which is like 13% return at base, while the 5th KEM is like 500% return….!

It really seems worth it. Even with a lower percentage (I’m over 500%) and spending less you could/should easily make a profit. With the collider going nonstop it all adds up…and fast. Plus, maybe it’s just me, but it’s kind of fun. I like the sound of the XP collecting with the collider on lol.

I updated my number. It’s more like 360%.

Well, tell us how (fun) it is in a week, k? I just ran the collider for a second day and wasted the rest of my money this time. I also bought a teeny bit of land. I’m down to less than a million.
I’m going to take a break on the collider until at least the next event.

My 10 day collide ended this afternoon. I started at level 106 with approximately 21 million in-game cash. I ended at level 377 with just under 25 million. Making between 1-1.5 million (and I was playing often, so would be on the high end) per day means I spent around 10 million for 271 donuts. A lot better than 140 million for 160 some.

I plan on taking it easy for a couple days, not checking in every 4 hours. Maybe just a couple times a day so I’m not going to start another 10 days just yet. I’ll see how I feel when the next event hits but I’ll definitely be keeping the collider going most of the time, from now on.

I was a little confused if you thought it was a good idea to keep the collider on, but sounds like you’re saying it is a good idea. The numbers sound great, and yeah it sounds like doing this during an event would be a great time to.

No, it’s definitely worth it. There’s just a lot of variables and after 10 days a little break is nice. It’s kind of like an event where you need to log in every 4 hours. Except the prize is donuts. Which is a good thing. I might do 10 days on, 2-3 off. Or just however I feel.

Do you prefer 10 days versus 3 or 7? Choosing it because it’s the best value? Or just anything over 24h is a good buy?

Best value and even if it’s not paying for itself from normal game play, it’s close. Doing a one day could pay off big if you have the money and time and willingness to go through hundreds of KEMs every 4 hours. Maybe I’ll try it some day. But I think, for me, 10 days is the way to go.

Haha, thanks for asking but I think I spend enough time on the game. I better stay out of the blogging business, for now. 🙂

I don’t recall giving you that option… 😛 Also, 😦 . You sorta are blogging but just via comments. 😉 Okay, fine, I’ll let you out of it…this time. I was just looking to not have to write up the post on this subject. You seemed to know what you are talking about, whereas I barely know what I’m talking about (*credibility*). What do you think about reviewing by email what I write to make sure it makes sense?

Hah, yes!! A small victory. 🙂 Well, I don’t have anything yet, but hopefully knowing that I will have a second set of eyes on it will motivate me to write it. 🙂 (If you have a set of eyes…. 2 or more is acceptable. 😉 I have 4 eyes….)

          I have 2 or 4. 🤓 So, combined, that’s some multiple I’d want for my conform-o-meter bonus %. 😉
