Pill-Poppin’ Insanity Tortoises – Homer’s Chiliad

The Homer’s Chiliad event has brought us a new mini-game that — SPOILER ALERT — involves tortoises and pills. Join us after the break for a breakdown.

The new Insanity Mode is a neat mini-game where we tap tortoises for 30 seconds to earn some rewards. At the moment the rewards are Pharmaceuticals (Pills) and XP.

You can play this game every 8 hours. Homer is required to be free.

Tap as many tortoises as you can. Simple.

At the end you’ll be rewarded with Pharmaceuticals (or Money) and XP based on the number of tortoises you managed to tap, up to a limit. This chart (information courtesy of commenter 1st-J_C / small correction by the wiki) shows the reward structure:

Basically that’s 2xp per tortoise and 1 Pharmaceutical for every 5 tortoises.

There’s also a random chance at winning one of the following items: Light-up Elder God, Cane Field, Pumpkin Patch, or Hieroglyph Wall. I haven’t been so fortunate to win anything yet.

Hi! I’ve only played once & I got 3 pills & a pumpkin patch. On the mini-games subject,,lately my Maggie game has been hard to hear. Before,I could pan through town until I heard “suck, suck” now sometimes I don’t hear her at all-out on a delay. & those seconds tick by fast,,don’t they?!

Neat! It’s good to know that a low number of tortoises can get you the random prize.

My Maggie game is still a bit off. Beep-beep-beep happens after the 3-2-1 has displayed. I guess the sucking would be off, too. I usually go slow and methodical-like through town, knowing where all her hiding buildings are, and I’m using sound only about half the time. The other half I’m using sight to find her.

How many seconds do you have? Check out this post on Where’s Maggie to see the buildings involved. It really helps to know where to look. Or maybe you want to add a few buildings to get a few more seconds of time.

Thanks! I didn’t know there was a building list of the buildings that she goes to. I try to just remember the common places. I get 1 min 28 sec to find her. My beep/1-2-3 countdown is off so makes sense her sucking would be off, also. (I feel kinda pervy when I talk about Maggie & suck, suck) !! I was doing really good at it then 1 of the in-game updates glitches it….
