The Home of Tomorrow is being offered bundled with the Rocket Car. Let’s find out if tomorrow’s deal is ready for today.
The Rocket Car is normally available for 120 donuts. It has seen a previous rebate of 35 donuts. It comes with Chester Lampwick.
The Home of Tomorrow is brand new. This building is valued at 40 donuts.
The good news is that after spending the 160 donuts, there is a rebate of 60 donuts. The net price is 100 donuts, which would be 20 donuts less than the normal price for the Rocket Car and thereby making the Home of Tomorrow free!
Is it a deal?
Considering that the Rocket Car could have been had for only 85 donuts net during a previous rebate deal, this might seem like it’s not too great of a deal. But consider that you get a new building for an effective 15 donuts (25 donuts less than it is valued at). Seems like a great deal to me.
What did you think of the deal? Did the 160 donuts up front keep you out or did you prepare for it arriving during act 3? Leave a comment and share your opinions.
The rocket car has a bonus of 2%. (I forget to include that….)

You just like to get the comments started, don’t you? 😉

I do….but this was more because I didn’t know how to factor it into the “deal”, so a comment was the most painless way to note it. Well, painless until you mentioned it. 😛 😉

I never know the etiquette. Like, when do I say “first”? Assuming I had been first. So it was nice of you to get the ball rolling. 😁

Okay, you’re welcome. You can say first if you’d like. But if you’re not first I will raspberry you!

When I purchased the rocket car, I received a rebate of 6 donuts as part of the questline. Is this factored into your calculations?

Nope, because I’m not that learned. 😦 So it’s like a 66 donut rebate? Neat!

I got it right away. I can’t pass up a rebate, and this was one of the better deals. 100 donuts for a character, building, and bonus. Tough to beat! 😀

When I first saw it in the game I didn’t notice the rebate. I thought, “160 donuts? not exactly interested”…but now I know better. *learns to read*
(And now I’m trying to scrounge up 60 more donuts! I also want the Gorilla billboard!)

I knew it was coming, so I was ready for it. I think I’m done with premium purchases for this event. I’ve got a nice stash of donuts saved for Halloween, and/or Black Friday, which will be upon us soon enough.

Feel free to look daggers at me now, but who is this old guy in The Simpsons universe?

That’s fine if you question that. You know of Itchy & Scratchy, right? They say Roger Meyers Sr. created them, but in reality it was Chester Lampwick. The episode is a parody of Walt Disney and how Disney basically didn’t/hasn’t created anything original (I think). Like the Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, Pinocchio… ? The list is nearly endless. So you say, “there’s Mickey Mouse”… I don’t know about it myself, but considering the way this episode lampooned Disney, maybe not even Mickey was original. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/8919889/Lost-Disney-cartoon-shows-how-Mickey-Mouse-was-originally-Oswald-the-Lucky-Rabbit.html Not in that article but Oswald was created by Disney and Ub Iwerks.

But, incredibly, it has turned up in the collection of the Huntley Film Archives in Herefordshire where it had been sat for decades.
But the question, simp7fan, is how do you pronounce “Herefordshire”?

Forgot to ask – what does the Rocket Car have to do with Chester Lampwick? And why is Home of Tomorrow bundled with him? I mean, I’m sure there must be a connection or explanation of some kind…

He has it in his drive-way when we see taht he purchases the solid gold mansion (which was also in the game for 250 donuts). It’s barely noticeable.

Wasn’t that the episode where Bart buys a comic and finds there guy living on the street and they help him get itchy and scratchy back but he cancels the show so everyone turns against him?

I think it was where Bart was following a parade into the bad part of town. He meets him there, where Chester is throwing bottles at the I&S float. The show can’t continue on because Chester proved that he created I&S and wanted like a billion dollars. Later Roger Myers Jr. gets the money he needs from the postal service because of their trademark being based on his dad’s drawing. Eh, you should just go watch it. 😛

Lmao I read I&S as Isis and wondered what episode was that! 😂😂😂
